Sons Of Cuba

Three ten year old boys training at a boxing school in Havana dream of becoming Olympic boxers. We followed their stories through 8 dramatic months into the biggest event of their lives so far: Cuba’s National Boxing Championship for Under 12’s. But during the season, crisis struck: Fidel Castro was taken ill, and all of Cuba’s Olympic Boxing champions defected to the USA, leaving the boys to contemplate the Cuba they have known at a historic crossroads. In fact, Sundance programmer David Courier called the film “Extraordinary”, saying he was both “so moved by the story of these boys” and “amazed at the confluence of history happening before our eyes on screen”.
