StrandedA blood-soaked woman flees from an isolated cottage in the middle of the night. Inside the partly renovated building, laboured breathing, bloody footprints and congealing blood provide clues to what has gone on there. Meanwhile, nearby, three workmen excavate a cordoned off area of roadside. Their banter and casual pace contrasts with the woman’s isolation and urgency and the eerie stillness inside the house she abandoned. The action shifts between ominous developments at the house, humdrum activities at the roadside and the woman’s frantic efforts to get help as she stumbles through the countryside in the dark. When these strands finally come together, her predicament, her relationship with the men and the full horror of what has happened become manifest.
